Prospects for China-Europe Relations and Cooperation under the New Era

German Centre Beijing, in collaboration with China-Europe Business Council, hosted the Capacity Building Forum on “Prospects for China-Europe Relations and Cooperation under the New Era” at the German Centre’s event space. The forum welcomed representatives from the European Department of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and gathered more than 80 business leaders from companies such as Airbus, BMW, DHL, Jaguar Land Rover, Siemens Energy, SAP, Nestlé and Nokia.
During the forum, Ms. Yao Ling, Director of the European Institute at the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (CAITEC), provided an in-depth analysis of China-Europe bilateral trade and investment, addressing the positioning of China-Europe relations, challenges in economic cooperation, and future potential.
Additionally, Professor Chen Jianwei from the National Institute for Opening-up at the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) shared his perspectives on the development trends of China-Europe relations and offered insights into key policy areas such as new energy vehicles and tariffs.

Following experts’ sharing, business representatives engaged in dynamic discussions, sharing their first-hand experiences on China-Europe trade and investment cooperation in the current landscape. Key topics such as export controls and investment strategies in Europe were explored in depth with the expert speakers.
The European Department of MOFCOM highly praised the forum, emphasizing the importance of upholding China-Europe partnership principles, fostering broader consensus, and injecting greater stability and certainty into bilateral cooperation amid global uncertainties.
